Chernobyl Disaster - What About Today?

Excellent documentary about Chernobyl and the heroic efforts to fix the problem. What few of us today realize is that a second explosion was imminent that would dwarf the first. This second explosion could have wiped out half of Europe. There was also the possibility that the leak would seep into the vast aquifer underneath the reactor and contaminate the country's entire drinking supply.

This crisis took place in a time of peace. Resources were able to be used to quash the problem before even more lives were lost. However what would happen in a time of war when these reactors would be specifically targeted? We will see such a time. There will be economic and civil collapse which will lead to war and devastating consequences such as Chernobyl and worse.

Left-Leaning Video From Republican

This is a compelling video based on a speech by Ron Paul. Okay. Don't stop reading. Ron Paul may be a (continuous) minor player in the Presidential race, but he has some good points and he is a good counterbalance to the others viewed on stage. However, this point of view is not one that should be taken seriously although one should know what it is. What it is is a rebuttal of America's activities in the Middle East. Give it a look:

However, what this video is not is a good reason to stay out of the Middle East. The example of Texas being invaded falls flat when one understands that Texas did not harbor folks who made the first strike. Remember that OBL and company attacked the United States. Then the US took action. Also remember that Iraq invaded Kuwait and afterward did not abide by the agreement when they lost that war. The comparison is interesting to view because it is where the Left is from, but not compelling when one understands the issues historically instead of emotionally.

China, the Debt Ceiling, and Aircraft Carriers

The Oval: Tracking the Obama presidency: "Li Daokui, an adviser to the People's Bank of China, told reporters in Beijing, 'I think there is a risk that the U.S. debt default may happen.' And he puts the blame on congressional Republicans. 'The result will be very serious and I really hope that they would stop playing with fire,' he said.

Ok. What do you do when you are racking up too many credit card bills? Go out and charge more? Ask more banks to send you another card since the ones you had been using just don't work the same any more? Lunacy! This is exactly what the current Administration is proposing.

The answer is that you need to cut back on your expenses and live within your means. Whacky idea. Now our "friends" in China feel compelled to opine on the goings-on over here. How about they concentrate on building their first aircraft carrier...with our money. Yes. That's right. China is building its first aircraft carrier. Why? Do we answer that question or just stick our heads in a hole as we have been doing for decades now? It is obvious. They wish to supplant the United States as the world's sole super power. They are doing it with currency, the economy, and the military.

Debt and Deficit Greatest National Security Threat - Rep Giffords

Gabrielle Giffords, the Democrat Congresswoman from Arizona, was correct in her last televised interview with Fox news when she described the national debt as our greatest national security threat. Historically, nations fail when they cannot maintain an adequate defense. A world power will fall when their economy falls. Others will take their place. Now is the time to act to reduce our debt. We must purchase more domestic products while buying much less from our enemies in the Middle East and China.

It is great that she is doing better. Pray for her complete recovery. We need more democrats like her.

Future Chinese Dominance Video

The future of the United States if we do not wake up. Highly recommended.

Nuclear Meltdown in Japan and the Next World War

There was a video game that was popular several years ago called Red Alert. There were many variants of the game, but the basic plot or strategy was to obtain resources and build an army to defeat your enemy. What struck me about that game was when your opponent was able to build up enough resources to build a nuclear bomb, you would be warned that you had 5 minutes until it was fully operational.

That was when your strategy had to change. If your opponent was allowed to use the bomb, it would be complete devastation resulting in your ultimate destruction. Consequently, you now had to destroy the nuclear platform of your opponent at all costs. You would sacrifice anything and everything in order to accomplish this. If you had tanks and airplanes, you would use them both and more in order to accomplish your goal of survival. Inevitably, most would be destroyed in the supreme sacrifice. However, sometimes the mission itself would be successful and your home base would be spared from nuclear annihilation. Many had to pay with their lives, but home was still there.

A similar strategy was used when your opponent built nuclear power plants around their home base. A well-guided flight of war planes could take the power plant out with a couple of strikes. The resulting explosion (meltdown) would decimate large swaths of land, buildings, equipment and people. One had to be careful in the placing of nuclear power plants. Disaster may be the result.

In the real world prior to 1945, there were no nuclear power plants. There were no nuclear anything. Earthquakes, tornadoes, ocean surges, and hurricanes came and devastated much in their wake. Lives and countless property were lost. However it is different today. Many countries around the globe have nuclear power plants and even nuclear weapons facilities. What happens when one of these natural disasters strikes one of these sensitive areas? They need to be constantly maintained or the worst could happen. But how do your prepare for an earthquake or a tornado?

But let's take it a step further. What happens when one of these countries goes to war. War has happened for millennia. Warring sides target the most vulnerable areas. What could be more tempting than a nuclear power plant that would not only reduce their ability to produce weapons or even power, but would also send radio-active carnage all across the landscape of the enemy. Your opponent in the video game Red Alert knows it and so too do our enemies. If Japan can hardly keep their nuclear reactor from a meltdown, how could any country stop such a meltdown if those plants are targeted for destruction.

Why did it come to this? In our video game example when your opponent begins producing their nuclear weapon, you do anything to take it out or it will be certain destruction for you and all those you cybernetically love. Why did not the United States take action when the Russians began their program? Or how about the Chinese, or the Indians or Pakistanis?  What about today with Iran?  The list goes on and on. And now we are set for probable nuclear devastation. War is inevitable and enemies will do what they must to survive. If you are not in the middle of it, you will certainly be effected by the fallout - literally.

Want to see what it will be like? Take a look.

(Rev 6:15-16) And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, {16} and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!"

(Rev 8:6-8) So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. {7} The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up. {8} Then the second angel sounded: And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood.

(Zec 14:12) And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet, Their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, And their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths.

Simply the Best National Security Article Recently Written-A Must Read (video)

The United States and the West are unprepared for today's challenges. Considering our National, State, local, and personal debt load, our propensity to spend without limit, and the lack of foresight into the real and present threats of those who are not our friends, significant changes in thought and action must take place very soon or there will be little hope for our future. How can we continue to send our national treasure to China and Arab states that only seek our demise? We must wake up to their threats or there will not be time to prepare once our enemies take advantage of our weakness. We were caught unprepared for World War 2. Fortunately, we were isolated from our enemies enough to produce a fierce army and overthrow those that meant to destroy us. Those countries of Europe and Asia that were closer in proximity to Japan and Germany did not have that luxury. They too did not prepare for the rising threat. They were unprepared just as the United States was and is in this day. They were quickly overtaken by their enemies.

The following is an excellent summary of where the West is today in relation to those that would seek its destruction, a "must read":
(Excerpt-read the complete article at the link shown)(Also see video below)
Brian T. Kennedy - Imprimis We are often told that we possess the most powerful military in the world and that we will face no serious threat for some time to come. We are comforted with three reassurances aimed at deflecting any serious discussion of national security: (1) that Islam is a religion of peace; (2) that we will never go to war with China because our economic interests are intertwined; and (3) that America won the Cold War and Russia is no longer our enemy. But these reassurances are myths, propagated on the right and left alike. We believe them at our peril, because serious threats are already upon us.
Islamic authorities of all the major branches of Islam hold that the Koran must be read so that the parts written last override the others. This so-called theory of abrogation means that the ruling parts of the Koran are those written after Muhammad went to Medina in 622 A.D. Specifically, they are Suras 9 and 5, which are not the Suras containing the verses often cited as proof of Islam’s peacefulness.
[C]onsider a 2007 survey of American Muslim opinion conducted by the Pew Research Center. Eight percent of American Muslims who took part in this survey said they believed that suicide bombing can sometimes be justified in defense of Islam. Even accepting a low estimate of three million Muslims in the U.S., this would mean that 240,000 among us hold that suicide bombing in the name of Islam can be justified.
China is building an advanced army, navy, air force, and space-based capability that is clearly designed to limit the U.S. and its ability to project power in Asia. It has over two million men under arms and possesses an untold number of ICBMs—most of them aimed at the U.S.—and hundreds of short- and medium-range nuclear missiles.
[I]t is widely held in China that America is on the decline, with economic problems that will limit its ability to modernize its military and maintain its alliances.
[C]onservatives have been basking in the glow of “winning the Cold War.” But in what sense was it won, it might be asked, given that we neither disarmed Russia of its nuclear arsenal nor put a stop to its active measures to undermine us.
On our part, we have not even tested a nuclear warhead since 1992—which is to say that we aren’t certain they work anymore. Nor have we maintained any tactical nuclear weapons. Nor, to repeat, have we built the missile defense system first proposed by President Reagan.
[C]an any government claim to occupy the moral high ground when it willingly, knowingly, and purposely keeps its people nakedly vulnerable to nuclear missiles?
We spend our resources developing modest defense systems to deal, albeit inadequately, with these so-called rogue states, and meanwhile forego addressing the more serious threat from Russia and China, both of which are modernizing their forces.
[T]he American people have proved capable of forcing a change in direction when they learn the facts. Americans do not wish to be subjected to Sharia law, owe large sums of money to the Chinese, or be kept vulnerable to nuclear missiles. [I]t is now time for us to remind our representatives of the constitutional requirement to provide for a common defense—in the true sense of the word.

State Bankruptcy Option Is Sought, Quietly - by Congress

State Bankruptcy Option Is Sought, Quietly - NYTimes.com: "Policy makers are working behind the scenes to come up with a way to let states declare bankruptcy and get out from under crushing debts, including the pensions they have promised to retired public workers.
This is the next step to the Federal Government, not going bankrupt - they would just print even more money before they do that- but losing credibility in the financial markets and others around the world. Once we lose confidence in the dollar (the only thing it has going for it), the collapse will begin. First it was personal bankruptcies precipitated by the mortgage crisis, then municipal debt. Now the States are in the same situation. We no longer manufacture goods, we import more than we export, and we spend more than we earn. We are our own worst enemies - and the real enemies such as China will take advantage of our weakened State.

Decline is Inevitable

Entropy: Inevitable and steady deterioration of a system or society.

Our world is one in which we must work continuously against the ever present demands of constant deterioration. We mow our lawns, keep our gardens, reconcile our bank accounts always working, always struggling. If we take a break, it builds up around us like a slow tide that will soon wash us out to sea. If we wait too long to work against it, sometimes it seems as though it will completely overwhelm us. That is our nature. The college student takes a few weeks off from studying and finds that there is a great deal of work to do to catch up. The road worker neglects some of the streets in town and the entire street needs to be scrapped and an entirely new one built in its place. A society forgets it first principles and soon entropy sets in and that society is on the brink of disaster either from outside forces or from an internal decay that has set in while it rested.

History has shown that when one country is weakened, it is eventually replaced by another stronger nation that has not neglected the necessary work to stave off the decay. God. Duty. Honor. What are these? What happens when an entire world succumbs to the temptation and forgets that work needs to be done? First principles, the foundation of a country - remember what they were. Work to find them and build them back up again. Fight the decay from within and reestablish the foundation that will withstand the attacks from without.

Communist Control Law - Public Act 117 of 1952 - Repealed

Why has this law been repealed? Are communists now good for our country? At one time, this "fifth column" was actively expelled from government positions and influence. Today, we elect leaders that prescribe to many of their ideologies. We may have waited too long to reverse course and protect our nation.

Repealed 1978 Michigan MCL 752.321 The legislature hereby finds and declares that there are present in the state of Michigan subversive groups and elements, particularly of the communist party and certain of its affiliated organizations, which have infiltrated into both private and public employment and into the public schools of the state. The consequence of any such infiltration in the public schools is that subversive propaganda can be disseminated among children of tender years by those who teach them and to whom the children look for guidance, authority and leadership...The legislature finds that such dissemination of propaganda may be and frequently is sufficiently subtle to escape detection in the classroom. It is difficult, therefore, to measure the menace of such infiltration in the schools by conduct in the classroom. The legislature further finds and declares that in order to protect the children and our state institutions from such subversive influence it is essential that the communist party and its affiliated organizations, from obtaining or retaining employment in the public schools or sate financed positions, be vigorously enforced. The legislature deplores the failure heretofore to prevent such infiltration which threatens dangerously to become a commonplace in our schools and institutions.
Not only have the communist/socialist ideologies become commonplace, but they have virtually taken over.
