Jews, Guns, and the Holocaust that Never Was

Ever watch one of those old clips from the early 1940's; those horrific scenes of the bodies piled up, mostly naked in heaps of pure wretchedness? Then you also see scenes from the same clips of people lining up in train cars and meekly walking to their deaths? Don't you wonder why they are so passive? Ever think that if it were you, that you would at least try to tackle one of those guys with the guns and take a few of the bad guys out before it was your turn? Probably everyone has.

Let's move to another scene. An evil plan to exterminate the Jews is hatched. It will happen on a particular date. There is no hope. All is lost.
And letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.
However at the last minute, a plan is hatched that will save the Jews. What is that plan? Let's see.
And the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and with slaughter and destruction, and did what they would unto them that hated them.
The plan was that the Jews in the second story defended themselves. What did they do? They armed themselves and fought for their lives. In the first scene, Nazi Germany made certain no Jew would be able to defend himself. They were defenseless against an evil government. Was in overnight? No. It was incremental.  The second story is from the book of Esther. It ends with people exercising their God-given rights. Do not allow yourselves to be put in the position like those in the 1940's no matter what seems most expedient at the time. An emotional crisis is not a good time for passing legislation.
