Glenn Beck and the Mormon God vs Jesus

If one listens to Glenn Beck often, you will quickly notice that he often brings religion into this political discussions. Rarely, however, will you find traces of the foundation of his religion, Mormonism. When quoting scripture, he will never quote from the Book of Mormon, but will cite phrases from the Holy Bible. After a while, one might think he is a Christian. However, Mormons are not Christians. They have very different beliefs. This came out a bit recently when joking about Rand Paul. One must listen carefully to how he infers how "God" is a greater "god" than is Jesus. To him, they are two completely different gods, not part of the triune God of orthodox Christians. Romney Vehemently Defends Mormon Faith

In this fiery 2007 video, we see Mitt Romney defend his Mormon faith. There is no doubt about it. He is well versed in all of it's tenants. Too bad many of the odd Mormon beliefs never surface in any discussions. We only caught a glimpse of their views about Missouri. Hint: They differ substantially from true Christianity. 

Glenn Beck and David Barton Talk About the Trinity - Someone is Heretical

David Barton and Glenn Beck have teamed up on several occasions. This time, they discuss Thomas Jefferson and attempt to explain why Jefferson was indeed a Christian and why it should not be disputed. In the middle of the discussion, however, Beck was unusually candid about his Mormon beliefs. Yes. He has been up front about being a Mormon. But if you have listened to him much in the past, he talks the talk of an orthodox Christian. Rarely if ever has any of the divergent beliefs of Mormons ever been mentioned or alluded to. Until now. 

This audio starts with Beck being "candid" to Barton. He openly admits his beliefs of Jesus are not the same as other Christians. Historically, orthodox Christianity has distinguished itself from cults and impostors primarily citing the Trinity, the belief that God is one in the Godhead which is made up of three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - One God (essence), three Persons. Here Beck openly deviates from this listing out three different gods. They mention that at one point in Jefferson's life, Jefferson agreed with the orthodox Christian Apostle's Creed which confirms the Trinity. Beck admittedly does not agree with the ancient creed. 

What does Barton, who has indicated that he is an orthodox Christian, do? Nothing. He has done nothing in the past and he does nothing here. A leading Christian should have disputed with Beck at that point, but he does not. True Christians should not be unequally yoked with a demonic cult such as Mormonism. The more leading Christians continue in their admiration and support of Beck, the more those in our world will be led to believe that a proper understanding of God does not matter. Clearly Glenn Beck and other Mormons believe in a different Jesus than do right minded Christians. Either Jesus is part of the Godhead or He is not. They both cannot be true. If you do not believe in Him as part of the Godhead, then you are worshiping a false Christ, a false god. And as Beck rightly admits, you will answer for that you when see Him face to face. Pray for Glenn Beck and his conversion to Christianity. Also pray for Christian leaders, that they will not water down the gospel and lead others to the false beliefs of Beck and Mormonism.

How different this is from orthodox Christianity. Why is it we never hear them say this in public?

Glenn Beck, the Oval Office, and the White Horse Prophecy

First, a little background. We all know Glenn Beck and what the Oval Office is, but what on earth is the White Horse prophecy and what does it have to do with the aforementioned Beck? The White Horse prophecy is purported to be the prophetic utterances of Joseph Smith, the founder of the Mormon religion. You see, Mormons hold the Constitution of the United States in high esteem as we all should. However, as much as we believe it may be one of the best documents ever penned by uninspired man, they tend to think it is a bit more than that. This is where the prophecy comes in. 

When the United States is going through dramatic turmoil and the Constitution "hangs by a thread"; "When the people shall have torn to shreds the Constitution of the United States the Elders of Israel will be found holding it up to the nations of the earth and proclaiming liberty and equal rights to all men", at that time, Mormonism, or a Mormon, will save the Country and restore it. Who will these Mormons be? Perhaps a President (Joseph Smith ran for President) or perhaps it will be a charismatic speaker who will turn the hearts and minds of the people to its first principles. 

Does Beck want to be President? Probably not. Is he an egomaniac picturing himself as President by purchasing an "Oval Office" from the JFK movie set? Maybe. Or is he a committed Mormon seeing his country spiral down to the point that it is "hanging by a thread" and he will be the one who will bring us back. He has many good ideas and the fundamentals he espouses are quite altruistic. We should follow them. But his ideology are not purely (or at all) Christian. One will not detect the doctrines of his church when he speaks. He keeps those very much in the shadows while espousing thoroughly orthodox Christian values. Who is he? Is he his words or is he what he says he is, a Mormon. Research what Mormons believe. Research the White Horse Prophecy. Listen to Beck's words through the prism of his church rather than his actual words and you may get a slightly different agenda than you thought. 

Christian Collaborators with the Mormon god of Kolob

Mormons have some very odd beliefs that are definitely not Christian. The following are Christians who have or are collaborating with Glenn Beck in relation to his faith in his Mormon god from the planet Kolob: (photos, if available, below). Only those who appear with Glenn Beck or others in relation to their faith are considered for the list. What does the God of the Bible have to do with other gods? Would Elijah or Isaiah converse about God with the priests and followers of Baal, Ashtoreth or Molech? PRT believes something besides a conversation would take place if they met. 

• Kudos to a "big evangelical"! Recently, Mr. Beck described a conversation he had with such an individual who did the right thing. Listen to Beck as he describes the conversation. If only more Christian leaders would do the same, there would be less confusion related to true Christianity and the cult that is Mormonism. 
• Ravi Zacharias - PRT is saddened to have to include RZIM Ministries in this category. RZIM is a solid organization that does much good throughout the world spreading the Word in many hostile environments. Mr. Zacharias went on Mr. Beck's program to promote his book, Why Suffering? As is the case in most interviews with those of faith, the segment focused on God and faith. There was no mention of the differing faiths the men held. A novice to either of the gentlemen would be led to believe they held a faith in the same god. Mr. Zacharias attempted to explain his appearance on the program to those that may question the wisdom of such a move. PRT believes it fell short. 
• Pastor Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Church in Seattle. Mr. Driscoll has taken much heat lately for various issues, but none of them stem from the visit in December of 2013 on Glenn Beck's show. Clearly faith was spoken of during the time on the show giving further credence to Beck's cultic false religion.
• Under God Indivisible It saddens PRT to have to add Under God Indivisible to the list. The Dallas Fort Worth Leadership conference held on July 27, 2012 had so many prominent and well-respected Christians attending. PRT resisted adding them to the listing for some time believing that their guilt was only by association. Glenn Beck's Restoring Love event was happening at the same time, but did not necessarily need to be affiliated with Under God Indivisible. However, that is not the case. Glenn Beck is a speaker at the conference and it is a prominent event on his schedule. Any respected Christian leader must be compelled to not share the same sacred (its being held at Highpoint Church) stage. Hagee Embraces Glenn Beck

Recently, prominent Christian pastor John Hagee welcomed Glenn Beck to speak at his church in Texas. Pastors Hagee's affection for Mr. Beck has not been hidden for over the past year or two as they have made prominent appearances together. The only problem here is that Glenn Beck is not a Christian. 

Is that a problem? Not really. Not really in that it is fairly common pal around with non-Christians. Yes, we are even encouraged to do so. Befriending non-Christians is one thing. Letting the speak and promoting them is something completely different.

Glenn Beck is not your ordinary non-Christian. Mr. Beck is a Mormon who purports to be a Christian.  Mormonism is not Christianity. They speak all the same words and have all the same morals on their personal conduct, but they do not worship the same God. Mormons worship a false god. Or more exactly, multiple gods. Quite different than Christianity.

Let's take a look at what King Josiah did when confronting those choosing to worship false gods. He certainly did not allow them to speak in the Temple and did not promote them in his kingdom:

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers, to bring out of the temple of the LORD all the articles that were made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven;  and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel. Then he removed the idolatrous priests whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense on the high places in the cities of Judah and in the places all around Jerusalem, and those who burned incense to Baal, to the sun, to the moon, to the constellations, and to all the host of heaven. The following is an excerpt from the site as shown. Finally it appears some Christians are taking a stand when it comes to Mormons purporting to be Christian. They are not. Beck is a great American, but he is not a Christian. PRT supports Mr. Beck until he begins to confuse his religion with that of true Christianity.

Dr. Warren Throckmorton Christian Blog: "An affiliate of the Moody Broadcast system in East Texas, KBJS-FM canceled David Barton’s Wallbuilders Live radio show during the show yesterday while Barton was discussing Glenn Beck’s religious beliefs. Randy Featherston, KBJS manager, said the show was dropped due to Barton’s failure to distinguish between Mormon theology and Christianity.

“When David Barton said it doesn’t matter whether you are a Mormon or a Baptist or a Methodist, we felt we had to do something,” Featherston explained.

On the September 13^th program, Barton played audio of Glenn Beck saying that “the Lord Jesus Christ is my Savior and my Redeemer.” Then Barton said he believed that Beck was a Christian based on his statement of belief and “his fruits,” meaning his good deeds. Based on Beck’s statements, Barton then asked co-host Rick Green, “Glenn says he’s Mormon. Ok, that’s fine. Based on what you heard, if you heard a Baptist say that or if you heard a Methodist say that…what would you say?” After Green answered that Beck’s testimony indicated a real conversion, Barton responded, “Why is it not a real conversion because of the label he wears?”

Throughout the program, Barton dismissed Beck’s Mormonism, saying at one point, “I don’t care what label Beck wears. I don’t care what Glenn thinks Mormon means.” Barton also asserted that Beck uses the same Bible, but added, “Now he may use the Book of Mormon, we never talked about the Book of Mormon.”

“When David Barton said it doesn’t matter whether you are a Mormon or a Baptist or a Methodist, we felt we had to do something,” Featherston explained."

Open Letter to Glenn Beck

Mr. Beck,

You are one of PoliticsReligionTruth.com’s (PRT) favorite TV personalities. PRT watched your program quite often and loves what you say. There is no one out there that is sounding the alarm like you do. You are truly the Paul Revere to your fellow citizens sounding the alarm against the thinking that has crept into our minds over the years. Without you or somebody like you, we grow oblivious to it. Like the frog in a slowly heated pot of water, we never know that we are boiling to death if we do not jump out. You are needed. We need to continue to be aware of those elements in our government that either knowing or unknowingly do not have our best interests in mind. These folks need to have the spotlight of truth shined on them. You say that the truth lives with you, but this is where there is a problem.

What is truth? This is the question most famously spoken by Pilot to Jesus. This is where Jesus was on trial and Pilot, the Roman overseer, attempted to get to the bottom of things before making a decision whether to let Jesus go or to kill Him on a cross. What is truth? Truth was standing right before Pilot on that very day in bodily form. Jesus is Truth. But who is Jesus? This is where PRT and yourself diverge. If it were any other subject, take George Sorros, the President Obama, or national healthcare, take any other topic or any other person and PRT would continue to sing your praises to all that would listen. Unfortunately, our opinions diverge on Truth, the Truth. It is not a superfluous issue for our opinion is that Jesus is God. Not only is Jesus God, but He is THE God, not a god, one among many. He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is the One by Whom all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

Unfortunately, you are a Mormon. Mormons do not believe this. While your public discussions are very Christian in doctrine, Mormonism does not agree with you or you do not touch on the points where Christianity and Mormonism diverge. According to your religion, Jesus is only one god among many. He is the first born of the god of this particular planet, but not the only begotten Son of the God of the universe. According to your belief, the god of this planet was once a man like us.

Even the things you say about Christianity are usually quite correct. The problem is that you are still a Mormon. You are not a Christian. If your program was entirely political or a-religious, one could live with that. Christians are not to live in a bubble. However if one calls himself a Christian, we are to treat that person differently.

Mr. Beck, you are a great American, but you are not a Christian. Research your religion much like you research the politics you speak of on your program. You will find the real Truth. It doesn't live where you are. He is in heaven sitting at the right hand of the Father. He is indeed part of the Godhead as you would agree, but He is more than that. He is one with the Father in His essence. This is the core at which we disagree and is no small point. Traditional orthodox Christianity worships and believes in a different God than do Mormons. The true God is one. There are not many gods. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Three persons, but one essence. Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.

It is made worse by your purporting to be a Christian. If you were an atheist or a agnostic or even just a Mormon, PRT would continue to sing your praises in a political nature. However, you claim to be a Christian. Our scripture, the one Mormons believe to be corrupt, tells us not even to break bread with someone that claims Christianity, but either is not a Chirstian or who is in a fallen state.

Just as in the days of Moses and the golden calf, those who worshiped the calf said they were worshipping the true God, only through the visual of the calf. Mormons too claim to worship the true God. However, your god is not the God of the bible and it is not the God of Christianity.

Do not let the fact that this religion changed your life be the foundation upon which you stake your eternity. You were down. They came and lifted you up. That was a nice thing to do for someone that was hurting, but that does not mean they have the Truth. It only means they helped someone. Hamas helps people all the time. That is how they obtain adherents in the Middle East.

Do not fall for the original lie. We will not be [as] God. We are his creatures. We will never be our own gods. Research this, Mr. Beck. Trust Jesus as your Savior and Him alone. Trust Him for He is the Creator and Sustainer of the entire universe.

Mr. Beck, we will continue to pray for you. Again, you are a great American. Continue to do good things for our country. But more importantly, open up your eyes to the one true God, Jesus Christ, our only Savior, the Jesus of the Bible, not the Jesus of the Book of Mormon.

Mormons Bought the Big Lie. You Know. The Original One.

So what happened in the beginning? Yes, that beginning. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. He also created the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. He told the Earth's first two inhabitants not to eat of this tree or they will surely die. This is where the big lie comes in. The serpent, that nasty talking snake convinced the woman that God had lied to them. That they would not surely die. He said that once they ate of the tree, that they would be as God. Now that's a lie. You know the rest.

So let's flash forward a bit to the 1800's when Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism, starts his new religion. What does he tell the folks that find him interesting? He tells them the big lie. The original one. He or one of his subordinates said, and Mormons today believe, that God (you know, God the Father, creator of everything) was once a man just like us. Somehow he was able to live a good life and earn his very own planet. Yes, his planet is the planet Earth. The one we all know and love. The lie goes on to say that we too, if we are good Mormons, can someday earn our own planet where, you guessed it, we can become as God. Yes, you too can have your very own planet to literally Lord over. How nice. They even have their very own bible.

Does this resemble anything close to orthodox Christianity? Do not be deceived. They are not Christian in any sense of the word.

Joel Osteen Claims Mormons are Christians - Video

Joel Osteen does not want to "judge the little details of it", so he says that Mormons are Christians. The little details? He admits he has not "studied" or "thought" about it. Maybe he should. It has been clearly demonstrated here that Mormons are not Christians even though they say they are. Do they "believe" in Jesus? Yes, but even the demons believe. What Jesus or what god do they believe in? The Trinity-One God of historic Christianity? No. They believe in many gods. As a matter of fact, they will one day be gods themselves. Guess they do not remember a little episode around an apple tree where someone was promised that she could be "as God".

There are no common bonds between Mormonism and true Christianity.

Glenn Beck Meets Billy Graham-Why This is Not Good

Today, Glenn Beck announced on his television program that he met with Billy Graham. He did not mention too many details, but there was one detail that would have been good to hear. It would have been good to hear that the Rev. Graham told Mr. Beck that we was misguided when it comes to his faith in Mormonism. It would have been good to hear him say that Mormonism is not Christianity at all since they worship completely different gods. It would have been good if the Rev. Graham could have been more of a guide to Mr. Beck.

However, that is likely not what transpired. What took place was more credibility to the Moron assertion that they are Christian when in reality they are not. Mr. Beck is a great political commentator and someone that everyone in the United States and around the world needs to listen to. However when it comes to his faith, he is misguided. I pray that Glenn Beck will come to the truth faith of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the second person in the One God - Trinity. There is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.

There is more that could be said, but it has already been said in an excellent way here.

Pray for Glenn Beck, the United States, and the rest of the world in these turbulent times.

Muslims, Christians, and Jews. Oh My!

According to an Islamic apologetic, Islam worships the same God as the Christian God. This may also be said of other religions. There are many paths to the same God, right? These different religions just get there in different ways.

Yes. The word in Hebrew came from 'El' and in Arabic from 'Elh'. The word for 'god' (note the small 'g' in English) is 'Elah'. Compare this to 'Eloi' and 'Eli' in the New Testament.

The word 'Allah' is the perfect word to describe the God of Jews and Christians as it does not permit gender nor plural.

How about the God of the Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses? What about the Hindus and the Buddhists? Aren't they all sincerely seeking after God?

God of the Christians:

The God of the Christians is a Trinity. God is One. However, there are three Persons in this One God. Each person in the Trinity is fully God. One may not see one part of the Christian God as God, but not the others. These three persons are indivisible.

The triquetra symbol shown here illustrates how something can be distinguished or separated, but remain the same object.

The three persons are the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. They are the One God. To belabor the point, Jesus Christ, born 2000 ago, is God in the Triune Godhead. 

Whether you believe this or not or whether you understand this or not is not necessarily the point here. The point is that any god that deviates from this definition of the Christian God is a different god. All roads cannot lead to different gods.

So the conclusion is quite simple in comparison. Let us see if they pass the "Jesus is God/part of the Trinity" test to see if they are looking to find the same God.

Muslims: Jesus is a prophet, but was not God.
Conclusion: Not the same God as the Christian God.

Jews: Jesus was a prophet, but was not God.
Conclusion: Not the same God as the Christian God.
Note: The God of the Old Testament (The Jewish Bible) is the same God. Those faithful Jews before Jesus was born looked forward to a Messiah; One who would pay for there sins in a conclusive way rather than the sacrifice of bulls and goats. Today, the Jewish faith does not look back to Jesus. Therefore, today's Jewish god is not the Christian God.

How about other "Christian" faiths?

Mormons: Jesus is not part of the Trinity. He is the first born of the god of this Earth who was once a man just as we are today. If we have faith, then we too will one day be the god of our own planet.
Conclusion: Not the same God as the Christian God. They are not Christians.



Hinduism: Jesus is a teacher, but not God.
Conclusion: Not the same God as the Christian God.

Buddhism: Jesus was enlighted, but not God.
Conclusion: Not the same God as the Christian God.
Note: Buddhists do not believe in life after death.

Jehovah's Witnesses: Jesus is Michael, the archangel.
Conclusion: Not the same God as the Christian God. They are not Christians.

Bottom Line: There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man and  God, Christ Jesus. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. Without Jesus, Jesus as God/part of the One God-Trinity, there is no "same path". They are worshiping something other than the Christian God. Consequently, they are on a path that leads to a destination that is different than the Christian path no matter how sincere they are or how hard they seek. For there is only One Way, no one comes to the Father except through Jesus. Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name by which we may be saved.
